Our chapter has completed many service learning projects in our community. Now, we feel ready to take on a larger project that requires an interdisciplinary team.

The project involves traveling to St. Ignacio Belize where we will construct bleachers surrounding the community sports fields. This project will help bring the community together over there love for community sports, giving them a place to gather and watch the games.

Our AGC Cal Poly Student Chapter spent this beautiful past weekend at Growing Grounds Farm in SLO rebuilding a shade structure for one of their gardens. What a treat to be able to help out our community while doing what we do best! A big shout out to our members and our community outreach chair Tristan for making this possible!

As we get ready to come back to Cal Poly for winter quarter, we would like to look back on a great conference we participated in right before we left for break! The AGC Construction Leadership Council (CLC) in Los Angeles California was extremely beneficial to our club members. We were able to learn all about cross generational communication within the construction industry. Thank you AGC California for providing us with yet another valuable opportunity for professional growth!

What a wonderful night at the California AGC Conference Awards Reception and Banquet. Cal Poly AGC was honored to attend this event and celebrate our club advisor, Paul Weber who was presented with the Construction Education Friend Award. We are excited for Paul to receive an honor that he is so well deserving of. CP AGC is so proud and thankful to have him as an advisor!

We had a great time volunteering at the AGC Tri-Counties 42nd Annual Golf Classic this past weekend in beautiful Solvang, California! We were honored to have a number of our student chapter members presented scholarships at the end of the day as well. Big thank you to AGC Tri-Counties for all of your support to our chapter and for a wonderful day!

As we wrap up another hugely successful year here at Cal Poly we want to thank our 2016-2017 board for all their hard work and dedication to this organization, we wouldn't have been able to do it without you guys. Also, a bigger congratulations to our graduating board members including our president Marco Maffioli, VP Marlo Castro, treasurer Kelly Martz, Dan Leavens and Kyle Robert! You will be missed!

This last week 12 of our members had the chance to go to the National AGC Conference in Las Vegas! It was such a great networking opportunity and as well as an awesome learning experience. A big thank you to our local support chapter, AGC Tri-Counties for helping us make this trip possible!

Today the Cal Poly AGC Chapter was awarded $4800 from AGC Tri-Counties, the local supporting chapter, to allow 12 students to attend the AGC National Conference in Las Vegas this March. This will be the first time any current Cal Poly students has attended the national conference. As a chapter we are very grateful for this donation and look forward to the upcoming learning opportunities that this Conference has to offer.
