Foundation for Rafi - Rafael Uzieblo Rafael Uzieblo, dear friend, father and ski professional was taken from us too soon April 12th. This page is to show support for his family.

On April 12, 2015 we lost one of our own to a tragic ski accident. Ski Instructor Rafal Uzieblo passed away on closing day after hitting a lift tower on the Sterling Express chairlift. Polish by birth, Rafal attended Zespol Szkol Mechanicznych in Krosno, Poland, graduating in May of 1994. Following school, he lived and worked in New Jersey running his own construction company. r Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania for two seasons as an instructor and then race coach. He came to work for Deer Valley five years ago. Rafal came to us with his level 100 USSA and Level 1 PSIA certification. He received his Level II certification in February of 2012. His personal interests included mountain biking, hiking and skiing. All reports were that Rafal was an inspiring and upbeat person who had passion for life. He loved skiing and teaching and he developed strong relationships with our staff and guests, leaving an impact on everyone he met. Rafal is survived by his wife Kate and daughter Aleksandra. We will keep you informed as to any service arrangements. In the meantime, our hearts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.
