Huge congratulations to my student Clyde who will be attending in the fall!! A math major who runs cross country, is a member of the debate team, and founded a Peace & Nonviolence Club at his high school, Bowdoin is lucky to have him!! I expect amazing things from him!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Huge congratulations to my student Ruby who will be attending next fall!! A studio artist, a theatre director, and a political activist, Ruby puts her entire heart into everything she does! She will be an incredible Smithie - I can’t wait to watch her do amazing things!

Happy Juneteenth!! I just finished Colson Whitehead’s brilliant novel “The Underground Railroad” and if you haven’t yet read it, it’s an absolute must. As Whitehead so succinctly states, we are a nation built by “stolen bodies working stolen land.” We must ALL continue to work tirelessly to remedy and rectify these devastating facts. I believe access to higher education for all is one of the most critical steps!

Congratulations are in order!! My student Leah is joining American University’s Class of 2028!! She was selected for the DC Community Impact Scholars Program & given a Dean’s Scholarship! I couldn’t be more excited for her!!

I have only TWO spaces left for current juniors / rising seniors in my advising Class of 2025! I’m already busy creating gorgeous student resumes that will become templates for their applications. Next up, personal statements (my fav!!)

Great info from FSU this morning on their annual “counselors only” zoom call! While students are not stats, I find numbers can be a helpful frame of reference!

If you have a current 9th, 10th or 11th grade student and need help navigating the college admissions landscape- reach out! I have a great track record helping students find their best fit schools!
