Hello!

This year I am not at any ongoing markets, but the nursery will be open on Saturday mornings 10-2 starting in two weeks.

I will have tomatoes (early girl and German striped heirloom), roselle, and catnip. Possibly more!

I will continue updating as we get closer.

My nursery is in north Sarasota, near the airport:
4429 Central Ave
Sarasota, 34234

Would love to see you!

When I plant a garden for someone, I often get asked a very good question. “How should I go about watering?”

I like to picture the whole root ball. I try to fully saturate the entire root system, and then give it enough time to dry out before watering again.

-If the plants are really young or newly planted, I won’t let them completely dry out between waterings.-

To encourage your plants to be more self-sufficient and have a larger root system, it is good to eventually try to back off of watering. This encourages the roots to grow farther out to search for water.

A self sufficient plants is less work for you and more water saved! 💦💪🏼

Just a friendly reminder that now (or soon!) is the best time to trim your mango trees.

Once the fruit has been harvested is the ideal time. Soon after, your tree will probably start pushing out new growth. You want to trim it before the new growth starts! 🌱

If you haven’t done it before and would like help or advice, I’m happy to help.

I hope you’re staying cool and seeing some rainbows! 🌈 and mangos! 🥭

Replaced some struggling plants in this garden with new bromeliads. The variety is attractive and can take some of that afternoon sun unlike many other varieties.

Knowing which plants can take what kind of sun makes a huge difference. And some varieties are much hardier than others, making them easier to adapt to different light and water situations.

Recently added irrigation off of the patio hose bib for these poolside planters!

Adding plants to your patio can really liven up the space, and irrigation helps to keep things watered so you don’t have to remember. 💦
