CALLING ALL TRAINERS AND WOULD BE TRAINERS!!!

For more than a decade, the Challenge Works trainers have gathered at an event known as the Trainer Summit. While the primary purpose was to continue developing the technical and facilitation skills that support meaningful, high quality training and to provide space to introduce, practice, and verify training skills it evolved over the years to to be more than that. The summit brings our tight knit staff together for a shared experience that strengthens relationships, deepens insights, and helps stoke the passion and the reason why a trainer trains, which can fade over time.

While traditionally a private event, this year we are excited to announce that we are opening up The Trainer Summit to the larger trainer community. We are offering a 3 day workshop designed to strengthen, empower, and educate trainers in the Aerial Adventure Industry. Whether you have been training for decades or are just beginning to explore a path in training, we hope this gathering offers a meaningful opportunity to learn, connect, and share space with others who care deeply about this work.

I for one am thrilled to open up this event and provide space for the larger trainer community; and to continue supporting the important work of developing trainer skills, relationships, and exploring what it means to be a trainer.

FUNDAMENTALS TRAINING - LVL1

Challenge Works is hosting a 40 hour training and testing event that will cover the basics of what it takes to be a challenge course practitioner. This training is perfect for entry level or ground-based practitioners. You will learn new and reinforce existing skills used in standard challenge course operations. This training takes place over 5 days and culminates in a final day of written and practical assessment where you will be tested for a Level 1 ACCT Challenge Course Practitioner Certification.

Join the Challenge Works team in delivering outstanding Adventurous Structures and Programs to our wonderful clientele throughout beautiful and temperate California. Challenge Works is a Professional Vendor Member (PVM) of the Association of Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) and continues to enjoy steady, stable growth in our market as we push to supply innovative solutions to our clientele.

This opening seeks experienced candidates to fill the position of Aerial Installation/ Ropes Course Technician position. This position utilizes previous years of experience and skill to execute work with the Challenge Works installation, maintenance, and repair teams. Candidate must possess a strong work ethic, positive work demeanor, good communication skills, be skilled in construction, responsible, safety minded, detail oriented, timely, organized, and have strong computer-based office skills. The position is Sacramento based with work all over the state of California and beyond.

Candidate must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver license/reliable transportation, be comfortable workings at height/ in a harness for extended periods of time, ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, and able to carry heavy objects over long distances and terrain. Candidate must be comfortable working in outdoor environments with varying climates and weather condition. Ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors and an active, passionate lifestyle. Successful candidate will have a strong command of the skills and knowledge required to build challenge structures at height. Will also be organized, professional in manner and very reliable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION

• Ability to climb trees, install aerial elements and ride zip lines, climbing towers, and ropes courses
• Autonomous, self-directed and possess strong time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A strong work ethic and high level of craftsmanship with precise attention to detail
• Leadership mentality who applies themselves to every and any level of their team’s project
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Professional and positive work attitude
