This safety announcement is for my friends all over. With the cold season coming on and holidays not far off. It's time to think of the safety of your family.
Do you know for sure that you are protected against carbon monoxide (CO) that may be given off by your heat source? Are you smoke detectors up to date? Likely not! Did you know they expire in 10 years and start to give off false alarms or don't work at all? What I am about to explain, you can do yourself! Or with my help!
As the owner of GJ Fontaine Electric over the past few years I have been installing these wireless interconnected talking smoke detectors with CO detection. They are amazing. I recently installed them throughout a 6000 sq foot home that was nearly impossible to hard wire. When completed it satisfied the local fire dept for a certificate of compliance in Manchester by the Sea.
They can also be interconnected with an existing hardwired system for additional protection for older homes with protection in stairwells only. I've done this in Swampscott. This would need me involved to interconnect them.
These detectors alert with "voice" and the programmed location. For example The basement has detected CO. All detectors sound off including the bedroom 3 flights up "WARNING CARBON MONOXIDE IN BASEMENT EVACUATE"! No more wondering where the problem is!
The Amazon link below shows the combination photoelectric and CO detector. The link also shows photoelectric smoke detectors only which are a bit cheaper.
Don't bother with Home Depot or Lowes for these detectors. The Sales person will likely direct you to an ionization detector which is inferior to photoelectric. Purchase the First Alert sco500b only (They don't stock them)
I hope this is helpful to you and your family! If I can help you with this or other electrical needs. Please check my page GJ Fontaine Electric to contact me for an appointment.
Stay safe my friends!
Gil Fontaine
