Well folks, I haven't posted anything for a while, so I figured it's really time to loop you all in.
During the Covid shutdown my husband and I took brought in 2 very abused teenagers, and also helped emotionally/ & financially support 3 of their older siblings, their dad (who was trying to support all of them and his mom while injured and going to school), and had to move during the height of forest fire season that year.
When restrictions loosened I tried to get back into all the shows and Etsy and my mental health suffered from the strain.
I was going to step back a bit this year as it was....but then the kids' lost their dad to a blood clot last month. Just as he and the kids were all finally healing and growing and happy and stable.
Oh and then there is all the random crap Etdy has had going on lately. So I'm not maintaining my online store.
So I'm cutting down significantly now.
I plan on doing Dragonflight Convention .and probably Geek Xtravaganza and Captain Slinky Presents Oddmall Emporium Of The Weird this year. But I'm tired. I'm not going to be taking custom orders for a long time since we have to navigate life without a our co-parent now. Something has to get put aside right now and since this business is not needed for our survival, it's the one to go right now.
I'll focus on fun projects, and putting stock together slowly for the shows local stuff only.
And I've started LARPing again with Refuge LARP Seattle to get out of the house and do low key, low stress game.
