We got bit by the frost last week, but this week is bringing the spring energy back!

This is what honey looks like before it ever reaches your pantry. 🐝🍯

These bees are standing on a frame full of capped honey — their winter pantry.

Inside the hive they keep everything around 90°F using their own body heat. Honey stays warm, liquid, and ready to eat.

But once that honey leaves the hive and comes to a human house like mine (with very vintage windows 😅), the temperature drops.

That’s why raw honey crystallizes.

It isn’t spoiled — it’s actually proof it hasn’t been overly processed.

If your jar turns creamy or solid, here’s the fix:

🍯 Put the jar in warm water
🍯 Keep it under 110°F
🍯 Let nature do its thing

Did autumn finally come? 🍂

That full Harvest Moon really pulled us into the season — cool, crisp air and cozy evenings ahead.

My skin has been grateful for our organic beeswax body lotion lately; it’s keeping me soft through these drier days. Between running Ladybird in the timber (she dragged me through a bramble patch again 🐾) and keeping up with the hounds, my hands have found comfort in our mango butter beeswax blend.

The bee yard is winding down for winter, hives tucked in and ready for the chill. Late-season blooms — zinnias, celosia, and dahlias — are still brightening the farm, feeding bees and hearts alike.

Warm soups, sweaters, and soft candlelight — our 100% beeswax tapered candles are made for these evenings, cleaning the air and carrying that gentle scent of the hive.

🐝 Ladybird’s Bee Yard Update

Our hearts are still warm from RiOak Western Design Fall Market—the laughter, the kindness, the way community can gather and lift each other up. 🍂 It was a gift to be there, and we’re so grateful.

For now, we’re stepping quietly behind the scenes—tending to family, homeschooling, and big house projects. But the candles keep glowing, both here at home and out in the world. ✨ You can find our hand-poured beeswax tapers (bundled in sets of 4), along with a variety of other shapes and sizes, at Fireridge Farmstand in Camdenton.

Each flame carries more than light—it carries remembrance, love, and the hope that we are never alone in the dark. 🕯️
