Just a quick tip:

Be careful trimming roots back. ONLY trim what’s dead. Do not trim good roots - you need that root base when you repot. I find Bonsai scissors work the best.

My mama’s orchids - we repotted with RepotMe medium and got the cheapest (plastic) orchid “pots” (also from RepotMe). These girls are in a window that gets a ton of sunlight, in a room that’s a comfortable temperature (but also gets a little warm with the sun streaming in). And they love all of it. ❤️
