💧 Not every "chimney leak" is actually coming from the chimney.

This homeowner in Kimberling City, near Little Aunts Creek, noticed the stone veneer beginning to crack and separate from the chimney.

After carefully removing the stone, we discovered the real problem.
The plywood sheathing behind the veneer was saturated with water and had begun to swell, pushing the stone outward until it cracked and loosened.

The source? The original chase cover.
Instead of extending over and protecting the top of the veneer, the chase cover stopped short, allowing water to work its way behind the stone year after year.

Our solution:
✅ Carefully removed the failing stone veneer and damaged sheathing.
✅ Rebuilt the exterior with low-maintenance vinyl siding matched to the home's existing exterior.
✅ Installed a custom stainless steel chase cover that properly protects the entire top of the chase.
✅ Added a stainless storm collar to help seal the flue pe*******on.

Because this chimney sits on a steep, hard-to-access roof, we completed the project using our non-penetrating roof staging system, allowing us to work safely while protecting the customer's roof.
Sometimes the most expensive damage isn't what you can see—it's what's hiding behind it.

🔥 Chimney Fire Repair – Day 2 🔥

Today we completed the restoration phase of this damaged chimney.

After allowing the refractory repair material to cure, we returned to apply the HeatShield® Chimney Flue Resurfacing System. This process seals cracks and gaps in damaged flue tiles, creating a smooth, continuous passage for smoke and flue gases to travel safely out of the home.

We also sealed the chimney crown and flashing to help protect against one of the biggest enemies of masonry chimneys: water intrusion.

The result?

✅ Damaged flue tiles restored
✅ Improved chimney safety
✅ Water-resistant crown and flashing
✅ Extended chimney lifespan
✅ No costly teardown and rebuild required

One of the things we're most proud of on this project is that the entire repair was completed using scaffolding, ridge hooks, and chimney staging with zero roof pe*******ons. No screws, nails, or holes were made in the roof, meaning no risk of us creating future roof leaks during the repair process.

🔥 Chimney Fire Damage Repair – Day 1 🔥

This chimney suffered damage from a previous flue fire. The 13" x 13" clay flue tiles were cracked throughout the chimney, and one section had broken loose and shifted against the stone chimney structure.

To safely access the chimney, we erected scaffolding and utilized specialized ridge-hook and chimney staging systems. One thing many homeowners don't realize is that our setup requires no screws, nails, holes, or roof pe*******ons, eliminating the risk of creating roof leaks during the repair process.

Once on site, we repaired damaged areas inside the flue using SaverSystems Formula 51 refractory insulating mortar to prepare the system for restoration.

Next, we'll return to apply the HeatShield® Chimney Flue Resurfacing System, followed by crown waterproofing and premium flashing sealant to help make the chimney both safer and watertight.
