Old staircase surgery:
Someone long ago decided to use a fat wood screw to hold this white oak spindle together. This time around I'm using a piece of threaded rod with epoxy to really make it strong again.

A customer requested 500 (wow!) Douglas fir plugs that were 1/2" x 2" so I used the CNC (computer numeric controlled) machine to cut them out:

Here's a neat project I completed in this year. I really like these old shapes. Stainless steel threaded rod and marine grade epoxy is what I used in much of the assembly and installation.

Here is a case where an old chestnut staircase had a wobbly newel post. I removed the newel post and reinforced it with wood infill and epoxy. Then I added blocking from the stair's underside and thru-lagged the newel post back to the stair body while using epoxy in the joints. I also made sure beforehand to clean (using aggressive files etc.) any wood joints of oxidation, dirt, etc., so all epoxy would bond solidly to the wood.

I had to make some parts for a reproduction of an old Victorian front entrance overhang. I'm new to the scroll saw but it really was the missing link in getting the old world look. My CNC machine cut the majority of the profiles, but the scroll saw made it possible to cut those tight lines and sharp corners.
