Hi friends, we need your help!

We have the opportunity to be featured on our own episode of Storm Chasin', a show centered around the snow removal industry across North America. We've successfully been nominated, and now we need votes to elevate us further into the running. We feel Door County would be a unique location to feature an episode on a commercial snow removal company because of our geography and market. We just need your vote to help make that happen!

Follow the link: https://stormeq.com/pages/storm-chasin-vote to place your vote.

Storm Equipment and The Snowjobs Podcast do a great job of sharing the untold realities of the snow removal industry. Check out an episode from this past season and subscribe to them! https://youtu.be/NMrSXW0AeP0?si=n0UDIKvZSpAm1ZdX

Thank you!

If anyone’s curious why this storm took so long to dig out from, here’s some proof of the sheer volume of snow we were battling with.

When we say we are doing our best to get to you but we cannot get through some roads, or we are fighting major drifts, we mean it!

We promise we are doing everything we can to get through what we can as quick as we can, but this will take time, and patience from all.

If you look closely you’ll recognize this view, this is the current look at Highway 42 in downtown Ephraim just north of the Ephraim Village Hall (looking south), with Eagle Harbor on the right.

A MASSIVE thank you to our entire Ephraim Maintenance Department and the Door County Highway Department for their tireless work to clean up after the storm!

🚨Photo was taken by a village employee working on snow clean up, please do not drive in Ephraim to take pictures or look at the snow. We are still in emergency clean up mode!

STH 42 at Brookside Lane in the Village of Ephriam is closed to traffic. The road is currently impassable and will remain closed until the winds subside.

Update:

We are currently off the roads and will be for a while yet. The town roads are impassable and the crews need time to try to work through it.

To our customers, we will do our best to get to you as soon as we can, but in full transparency, after talking with the town, it will likely be Wednesday before we can start getting to most of you. We cannot plow through the roads with our own trucks and have no choice but to wait for the town to be able to get through things. We will get there sooner if we are able to. Our businesses and places in town on the highway will be handled before then as the highways get cleaned up, but it will be a longer than usual time as we work through things as safely as we can. This is an insane amount to clean up and will take time. We promise we will be doing all we can to get things open as quickly as possible.

Thanks for trusting us to make the right decisions, and being patient with us!

Here’s a snapshot of the severity of conditions out there right now. We’ve gotten trucks stuck so many times that the risk is not worth the reward. Huge thank you to JF Construction for coming out this morning with a loader to rescue two of our trucks that got stuck in a road last night.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience to our customers, but our crews safety is our #1 priority, and it was time to get off the road.

As you can see, Door County highways are in black, as in travel not advised, and they’ve been out there doing their best to keep them open. The town has been working hard too, but many town roads are in worse shape. It is not safe for us, or you, to be out and about right now.

We will be back to as soon as our crews feel it is safe to do so, but for today, just stay put, play some games, watch some movies, and we’ll be there to get you out as soon as we are able. Patience is key with this storm.

The crew was hard at work doing final cleanups on the first 11” this morning and jumped right into pushing back piles to make room for the next 31” forecasted.
