It was a wee Irish blessing to deck the barn loft and discover this peek to the Deschutes River from the south-facing dormer that was to have been Terry O'Casey's study nook. It brought me joy and made me smile, and i wish you could see it, Terry. But you probably do! Of course you do!

Turning a day bed nook in the old guest bedroom into a storage closet for Lynn was an ancillary endeavor while creating a new guest house at the Cross hacienda. But simple as it was, it turned out sweetly and was a very surgical strike with virtually no disturbance to existing finishes. Well done on the ex*****on end, JK.

All hands on deck for ceremonial setting of the elm slab island top in Norm and Kathy's new kitchen. This will surely be a star of the show when all is said and done. The tree from which it was made, and fabrication and finishing by Natural Edge Furniture, sourced in Bend. Cabinets by Three Creeks Woodworking, Sisters. Jubelale by Deschutes Brewery. Christmas cookies by Sisters Bakery. Keep it local.

The not-entirely-retired-yet Norm (right in photo) works with the lads at Three Creeks Woodworking on the cabinet plans. The ageless John Krumvieda works on the roof. Not-so-big addition to Norm and Kathy's Sage Meadow cabin, ongoing.
