Solvay Community Pollinator Garden

Solvay Community Pollinator Garden The Solvay Community Pollinator Garden is a community member run garden to support butterflies, bees She only lays her eggs on the milkweed plant.

Members from the Solvay community are planting a flower garden for butterflies, bees, and birds at the gazebo in Memorial Park on Woods Road. The garden will be a beautiful destination to enjoy and watch the life cycle of the butterfly and other pollinators. It will also be a wonderful educational opportunity for children and the community at large. The population of the monarch butterfly has dram

atically fallen over the last decade. Her caterpillars only eat milkweed. Our garden will have the host plants for several varieties of
butterflies and nectar flowers for them to eat, as well as plants that support bees, birds and other pollinator insects. It will be a beautiful mix of perennial plants, annual flowers, and deciduous shrubs. This is a community endeavor, and since we are all volunteers taking on this project we would like to ask if you could donate to this beautiful cause. Donations will go towards the purchase of plants, seeds, plant signs, and supplies to support the maintenance of the garden. If you are interested in donating your time to support the establishment and maintenance of the garden, please message our page.
