Is anyone else cringing whenever they go to home depot and see prices of the lumber? If you are curious about its average 20% increase in price- its a multitude of reasons, and its not only effecting lumber. Steel prices have gone up too, and caused ripple effects into products such as appliances. Factories during covid pulled back production, supply chain hiccups caused ships to stack up outside of ports, and even last summer’s wildfires have affected all of this. But the easiest and most notable reason for the price surge is Covid, and its a perfect example of how it will still effect us even when it is “over”.
