There are few things worse than getting the final bill for a job and having it not match what was agreed.

It almost always starts at the beginning, with a quote made only by word of mouth, nothing on paper. Without a document, any “extra” becomes an argument and you’re in the worst spot: the work is done and the bill is in front of you.

The protection is simple, and you should demand it from any company: a written, itemized quote, approved before anything begins. Here, what we agree on is what you pay. The only surprise is the finished house.

Honest question: is there a part of your house that bugs you every time you park and look at it?

The house warns you long before the problem gets expensive. The trick is reading the signs.

Peeling or bubbling paint, a faded color that looks “washed out,” and wood showing through at the corners and trim those three are the house telling you its protection is wearing off. On the coast this moves fast: what’s cosmetic today becomes wood repair tomorrow.

You pick the color from that little chip in the store, love it, take it home and on the wall it turns into something else. Frustrating, right?

It’s not you. The swatch really does fool you: the store light is different from your home’s light, the chip is too small to tell the truth, and the reflection from the house next door and the finish type change everything.
