A fun project is ready for paint.

Wall removed to open up the home, new supporting jacks underneath, new bathroom, refurbished kitchen including sink, countertops, and backsplash, drywall, interior doors, beadboard, baseboards, can lighting, fan added, gfci circuits in kitchen and bath, laminate floors, and refinished wood floors in 3 rooms.

A cool week at Burgess Hollow Farm working on their chicken coop. We removed the wire top and framing, and installed a pitched roof from the existing rooflines. One day we enjoyed a lunch while the snow fell at 26 degrees, but it ended well with sunshine and all dried in. Also a new door was installed as the other didn't weather well.

Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm next week..

Milled the Walnut and built the face frames/doors.

I am looking for a full time apprentice for construction and remodeling. No experience is required. What IS required is a desire to work hard, learn, show up when scheduled, and take pride with quality and yourself. Skills of basic math and reading a tape measure are expected. Must be able to communicate, work alone or as a team, and have good hand-eye coordination.

Please do not respond if you have prior obligations during the day, participate in drug use, drink excessively, or have a life of drama and instability.

Please respond in a DM explaining your situation, skills, experience, future desires, and past dedications. I prefer someone with a driver’s license and transportation, or able to maintain it after employment.
Work has been in White, Dekalb, and Putnam counties, but not limited to these areas.

The desire is a long-term employee who wants to learn the skills of building and remodeling in various phases. I am willing to teach a trade that is being lost, while maximizing productivity and quality for my customers.

Busy in Smithville...

Milled and rabbeted some cedar for an accent wall and prefinished the material before installation.
Cleaned up the aged front posts for finishing as block and rock is being installed.
Refinished a few exterior doors.
And some trenching for main electrical..

Also been working on walnut mantels to be posted after completion.

Excited to continue next week after visiting family in Galveston Texas..

Stained some posts and beams, polyurethane finishing on them and a cedar accent wall, and cement board installation on the soffit. Keeping busy in Smithville.
