Another Pause 22.4 finished up with a few upgrades.

This one received a Modiwell R1808 waterless toilet, a DC-powered roof-mounted Starlink Mini with an auxiliary connection, an RVLock electric door handle, additional rear door latches, and a few other odds and ends.

Have a modification in mind for your camper? Feel free to reach out.

Custom kitchen upgrade for an OBI Dweller 13.

On my way back from New York, I stopped in Pennsylvania and spent a few days working on this Dweller at the owner's property. I couldn't complain about the jobsite either. I camped right along the bank of a small lake while I was there.

The main project was replacing the factory kitchen slide with a completely new setup that I designed and built from scratch. The factory kitchen is a common complaint among Dweller owners, so this was a good opportunity to build something around how the owner actually wanted to use the camper.

The new kitchen is built from maple plywood and features a deeper sink. The owner also wanted a flat top grill, but with one important requirement: the grill needed to stay in place when the kitchen was packed away. The entire setup was designed around storing the grill right where it is, so there is no need to remove it and find somewhere else to store it during travel.

The kitchen connects using the factory water and propane quick disconnects. The sink can drain directly to the ground when appropriate, or a hose can be connected to direct the water to a specific location or into a bucket.

I also installed a roof-mounted Starlink Mini with a direct DC power connection while I was there.

This is the first version of my replacement kitchen design, and I'm very happy with how it came together. Custom projects like this are a big part of what I do. If there's something about your camper that doesn't work the way you'd like it to, feel free to reach out and discuss what can be done.

Finished up another Pause 22.4 with a handful of upgrades, including a new toilet option that I wanted to show off.

The biggest addition was a Modiwell R1808 dry flush toilet. I actually installed one of these in the OAS camper first and, after getting some firsthand experience with it, felt comfortable recommending it to this owner. They wanted an alternative to a Cinderella, DryFlush, or composting toilet, and after discussing the options, the Modiwell checked the right boxes.

The R1808 is a fixed-install, waterless toilet that heat-seals each use into an individual pod. No water or traditional black tank connection is required, and it can be hardwired directly into the camper's DC system.

I'm also now a Modiwell dealer, so I can supply these units as well as handle installation for anyone interested in adding one to their camper.

This Pause also received a roof-mounted Starlink Mini with direct DC power, plus a second DC-powered connection that allows the Starlink to be relocated when trees or other obstructions block the roof location.

I installed a new RVLock electric door handle, added additional latches to address the rear door opening during travel, and completed an inspection to help the owner identify and get started on a couple of warranty items.

Quite a few different projects around the shop right now, and I’ll have more to share as I work through them.

If you have an RV, camper, van, or other mobile project you've been wanting to tackle, feel free to reach out.

While working in New York, I had the opportunity to sort out the electrical system on this 38 foot vessel.

The owner had previously paid to have the boat converted to a Victron system. Although everything appeared functional from the outside, he had concerns about loose wiring and a completely unlabeled breaker panel. His marina had even struggled to determine how to properly shut the system down for winter.

Once I opened the electrical compartment, it became clear there was quite a bit more going on. I found excessive cable lengths, unsecured live busbars and switches, unterminated wiring, incorrect battery fusing, and batteries that were not properly secured.

I started by tracing the existing system, cleaning up the wiring, correcting the battery protection, and properly securing the heavy cabling and components. From there, I upgraded the alternator charging system with six Victron Orion XS chargers. Four provide charging from the two engine starting batteries to the house bank, while the remaining two provide trickle charging back to the starting batteries as needed.

I also reorganized the breaker panel to accommodate the new protection devices and, importantly, labeled everything clearly.
Once the physical work was complete, I documented the entire system with a proper electrical diagram. If the owner or marina ever needs to troubleshoot, service, or shut down the system in the future, there is now a clear roadmap showing exactly how everything works.

A system should not just work when the installer leaves. It should be safe, serviceable, and understandable years down the road.

Check out the upgrade completed on this Express 33 while in New York.

After getting the electrical system sorted out on a previous visit to the marina, the owner decided it was time to add solar. I installed 670 watts of rooftop solar to help keep the batteries topped off while out on the water, reducing generator runtime and extending time away from shore power.

While I was there, I also ran the wiring for a future FLIR camera system so everything will be ready when the owner decides to install it.

It's always rewarding to continue building on a system rather than fixing problems. This boat has come a long way, and I'm very happy with how the system turned out.

Although this project took me to New York, I'm now back home in Spartanburg, SC and accepting new projects. If you're looking to upgrade your boat, RV, camper, or off-grid electrical system, feel free to reach out.

Back home in South Carolina after several weeks on the road.

This Airstream project in Greenville, SC was my first job back, and it's good to be working close to home again.

It was a great trip filled with camper, RV, and marine projects across several states. Now it's time to get caught up on local installs and meet with a few new clients.

If you've been thinking about upgrading your electrical system, adding solar, installing Starlink, or tackling a custom modification, I'm currently scheduling upcoming projects.

New York is officially in the rearview mirror.

I had a great time up there working on a pair of boats at the marina and helping some great clients get their systems sorted out. Marine electrical work always presents its own challenges, and these projects were no exception.

I’m currently in Pennsylvania and working my way back south.

Over the coming weeks I’ll be sharing more detailed photos and information from these projects, along with several camper builds and upgrades completed along the way.

If you’re in the area and have a project you’d like to discuss, feel free to reach out.

Inverter upgrade on a Class A Grand Design RV.

The original Magnum inverter charger had failed, leaving the owner without a way to charge the system. We replaced it with a Victron unit to restore functionality and improve overall reliability.

After removing the original inverter, the new unit fit perfectly in the existing space, which made for a clean install.

I had the owner back up and running in a single afternoon.
If your inverter is showing signs of failure or you are considering an upgrade, feel free to reach out.
