⚡️ CNC MACHINE ⚡️
Our team at Russell Electric recently tackled a challenging electrical installation project that required specialized expertise and creative problem-solving. This customer had relocated a CNC machine from a commercial facility with three-phase power to their primary residence, with single-phase utility power.
To ensure the CNC machine functioned properly, we worked together to design and install a phase converter to give us that 3rd leg. However, we encountered an unexpected issue with the phase converter’s output configuration, which was 3-phase delta, whereas the CNC machine required 3-phase Y. It seemed to be that our only other option rather than three phase utility power would be feeding a 45KVA delta to Y Transformer from the phase converter.
Further analysis revealed that the CNC machine itself required refurbishment! Our team collaborated with the customer and Makino to address this issue, and the machine is now fully operational.
The CNC machine is now up and running and producing high-quality parts for prominent companies, including SpaceX, Tesla and even prototypes for Rivian.
