Here's a little process of my painting from last week if anyone is curious... 👀

Started out just throwing some paint down in messy lines and drips.
Overlayed my reference photo over a photo of the background to map out my points of reference for the rough sketch.
Layed down the darkest value points, then added the other colors I saw in the face from darker to lightest trying not to overblend and letting some of the colors drip.
Every color I used throughout I worked into the background where I intuitively felt it should go.

Got the chance to attend another one of mural meetups! Had a great time meeting and working alongside new artist friends and learning more about painting large scale and some spray paint techniques! Will be practicing that more soon for sure😊
Its been a hard past few months for me with multiple losses, and this was just what I needed. Feeling grateful, and excited and ready to keep creating and see what I can make happen 🎨✨️💕

Some process photos of my last completed painting 🎨✨️
From the initial sketch on the blank canvas, to the pink underpainting-little Miss's and her dad's favorite color💕- to blocking in the background, to spending countless hours getting her sweet face just right, then finishing it up with the two beautiful pups. Each painting is always a process, its always fun to look back and see it come together!

Been sorting through old memories, and came across this mother's day book I made for my mom in school 30 years ago. I've had the privilege of being by her side the last week, while she's been in very bad declining health, and sadly we lost her from this world yesterday 💔
She was the best mom I could have asked for, and at the age when I made this was certainly my entire world. I'm glad she's no longer struggling, but it is such a deep feeling of loss you just can't prepare for. No one will ever love you like your mom, and I surely never doubted the amount of love she had for me.
I know she's having fun with all of her old friends, family and pets that had gone before her, and resting in absolute peace. I will miss her, and love her always.

I'm very honored I had the opportunity to assist on this massive mural last week in Carthage! I did all of the leaves and greenery on the lower portion, and got to learn some spray can techniques. Go check out page to see the beautiful finished results! She absolutely nailed it, and is such a great and generous mentor to learn from.

So I've finished my latest commission, and I can't wait to be able to share it with you guys I'm pretty happy with the outcome! It's for a gift so I can't reveal it yet, but here is a peak at my paint pallette.
Shout out to the Stawett pallette, which keeps your acrylics wet and workable for up to multiple weeks, which is such a insane painting hack and lifesaver when using different mixed color shades. It's a paper pallette with a sponge underneath it, that sits in a box with an airtight lid. Brilliant!
