🌱 Garden Bed Transformation — Before & After

For this project, we focused on cleaning up the existing bed while improving the soil and creating a better foundation for the plants already growing there.

Here’s what we did:

🌿 Removed the w**ds — including invasive ground covers like purple creeper
🌱 Aerated the existing soil to improve air, water, and root movement
🍂 Added a layer of compost & compost tea to feed the soil biology
🛡️ Installed a new w**d barrier to help keep unwanted growth under control
🌳 Finished with a fresh layer of mulch to protect the soil and give the bed a clean, finished look

We had a microscopy test performed on our worm castings last week, and the results are in! 🔬🪱🌱

Let's highlight one of the many microbes you'll get when you buy a bag of Soil House Worm Castings?

One thing you can expect is a HUGE population of beneficial nematodes — approximately 2,700 per gram. That's a lot of tiny helpers working beneath the surface.

These beneficial nematodes feed on bacteria and, in the process, release nitrogen and other nutrients into the soil in forms that plants can readily use. They're an important part of a healthy soil food web and help create an environment where plants can thrive naturally.

We have been partnering with 417 Urban Livestock Feed over the last month by amending their plants starts they are preparing with our soil amendments.

Their plants are looking top notch and will be some amazing plant starts. These cucumbers are looking quite strong and will make some amazing pickles for somebody this year.

We'll have some of our worm castings, biochar, and fresh made compost tea available for their event.
