Cope Brothers, a family owned landscaping and snow removal company, based in South County, is searching for a high energy General Manager to join the team. The GM is responsible for growing the business through business development, field production, employee oversight, material procurement and equipment maintenance. The bulk of this role is spent in the field working with clients and crews. Remaining time is spent in the office on administrative tasks and employee management.
What does the job entail?
• Assists in developing and implementing account-specific vision, strategies, and creative solutions. Monitors and manages account profitability and drives retention and growth of contract business.
• Acts as primary escalation responsibility for client concerns by proactively assisting in resolving issues with customer service when needed.
• Business development of additional clients and upselling to existing clients
• Project estimation
• Managing a team of up to 10 people
• Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices to minimize accidents.
• Equipment maintenance
• Management of field operations crews
• Identifies, estimates, and presents opportunities for new business and enhancements.
Requirements and Experience:
• 3 years of Supervisory experience
• 3 years of customer service experience
• 3 years of landscaping experience
• Valid driver license
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft office programs and email.
• Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds
• Ability to multitask and effectively use time
• Must have strong mechanical aptitude
• Snow & ice experience, a plus
• Industry related education and/or certificates, a plus
• Bi-lingual, English/Spanish, a plus
• Must be familiar with all operational concepts, practices, and procedures with the ability to identify and sell landscape enhancements
• Must be able to demonstrate excellent judgment as the incumbent’s decisions directly impact operating costs and indirectly influence client retention and future contract awards
• Must be able to demonstrate excellent accountability as this position has authority to initiate actions and make decisions within established precedents and practices with regular managerial direction and review
