Today has been one of those days where you really have to take a step back and remind yourself why you started.
I’ve been told by multiple people today that, in their opinion, self-employment isn’t for me.
And why?
Because while out doing a FREE job for someone, with my son by my side, we had a major issue with our van.
Yes, there’s going to be a big garage bill. Yes, it’s going to hurt.
But what people don’t seem to take into consideration — and what very few people actually stop to ask about — is the bigger picture.
This is our first year where we’ve had a full spring and summer of running the business.
Over that time, we’ve invested a huge amount of money back into the business.
A new van.
New mowers.
Hedge cutters.
Hand tools.
Equipment.
Servicing.
Insurance.
Everything that comes with building a business from the ground up.
And yes, I do have money saved.
But it isn’t thousands upon thousands sitting there waiting for something like this to happen.
The money I have put aside is money I’ve been trying to build up to get us through the winter — and I’ve continued putting money away whenever I can.
I don’t mind people having an opinion. Everyone is entitled to one.
But I would much rather people ask questions before making assumptions about someone’s situation or forcing their opinion down their throat.
Because you never truly know what someone is dealing with behind the scenes.
To everyone who has supported us today, sent messages, checked in, or simply reminded us to keep going — thank you. ❤️
We WILL come back from this.
Because that’s what we do.
People will laugh at us.
People will judge us.
People will tell us we can’t do it.
But we will never lay down and quit.
We will never admit defeat.
The Cowdrey Family will bounce back from this.
The van might be broken.
The bank balance might take a hit.
But our determination isn’t going anywhere.
And tomorrow?
We go to work.
💪❤️
