🌟 Project Spotlight 🌟
Murphy Company is proud to highlight our work at the Boulder Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF), a critical piece of infrastructure that serves approximately 329,000 Boulder County residents and helps protect public health and the environment every day!
As part of the facility's modernization efforts, Murphy was selected to complete HVAC and energy-efficiency upgrades across seven occupied buildings while keeping the wastewater treatment facility fully operational. Because the plant operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, careful planning and coordination were essential to ensure construction activities did not disrupt daily operations.
Working closely with City of Boulder staff, engineers, subcontractors, and facility operators, our team developed a detailed phased construction plan that allowed laboratory testing, treatment processes, and employee operations to continue uninterrupted throughout the project. Over the course of the 14-month schedule, there were no interruptions to wastewater treatment services or laboratory operations.
The project included upgraded mechanical systems, new building automation controls, high-efficiency boilers, and energy-recovery technology designed to improve reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance. These improvements will help extend the life of the facility and support the Boulder community for years to come.
This project highlights Murphy Company's commitment to collaboration, innovation, and delivering complex infrastructure improvements while keeping essential community services running without interruption!
