Summary:
The landscape maintenance tech is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in order to complete grounds maintenance or landscape enhancement services. The individual will be employed in a part OR full time capacity adjusting with seasonal work loads. This position is seasonal (April- Nov.) with winter work available. The technician will be assigned equipment to carry out the service contracts that are designated. It is required of the tech to perform routine and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment. The landscape maintenance technician may have a crew member that work on their team for periods of time to complete certain task. When this is the case, it is required of the tech to lead crew members and approach jobs in an efficient & effective manner. Paper work and time sheets must be filed appropriately and submitted daily by the landscape technician to aid the office in accurate job costing & payroll.

Job Duties:
• Understanding service contracts & daily work order requirements through morning briefing with account manager/ estimator.
• Communicate to crew members of any schedule changes and /or daily details.
• Loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the AM and PM
• Check to ensure equipment is in proper working order before it leaves the shop.
• Maintain turf, trim edges, clean up refuse, blow trimmings, fertilize and water turf areas and perform other lawn care duties as directed by manager
• Move and install soil, mulch and plant material to assist with the construction of landscape gardens and related areas
• Spray and dust areas to control insects and/or weeds
• Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges
• General lawn and garden maintenance
• Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn tractors, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, chain saws, and snow blowers
• Snow removal operations during winter months including plowing with truck, shovelling, snow blowing & salting.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Minimum 2 year experience in the landscape/construction industry
• Ability to pass landscape safety training
• Ability to maintain professional image & body language
• Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
• Effective communication skills – must be able to listen and/ or read verbal/ written instructions, labels and signs, complete simple reports, and report progress via LMN TIME.

• Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape maintenance/construction practices
• Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
• Ability to walk, stand and crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks

Work Conditions:
• Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
• Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
