The floor's going down on the yurt at Marine Village School.
You can see the round platform taking shape now. Before we close it up, we're packing insulation into the floor and sealing it off underneath. That means 1/4-inch galvanized hardware cloth and a weather barrier across the bottom, so wind and rodents stay out and the floor stays comfortable year-round.
It's the kind of thing nobody sees once the decking's on, but it's the difference between a floor that's cold and drafty and one that holds up. Worth doing right the first time.
