Oak removal in Corsicana Texas was fun for the crew and a light days work, took the opportunity to go out and get some drone footage.

Split cedar that needed to meet its maker. I.e. Matt with a chainsaw.
Did some preservation work on a magnificent oak as well to balance out the loss. Compost and mulch with some deep root fertilization is a like a day at the spa for a tree.

Cabling and bracing job for a failing oak.

— got to a property for a general health assessment and discovered this spitting oak. Removal was recommended but the customer chose preservation as this is a focal point tree. We over built the support system and bracing system to mitigate failure as much as possible. Coupled with a weight reduction, this will hopefully be secure for the foreseeable future.

Ganoderma mushroom.

:This is the fruiting body of a wood decaying fungus, fine sight on a tree stump such as this, could be a death sentence to a living tree. The network of white mycelium will grow and break down wood and when resources become limited the fungus produces these fruiting bodies to release spores and find the next host. Often time when these are visible the majority of damage has already been done.

Massive Tree alert!!!
Our crew had a busy week removing a post oak that had contracted hypoxylon canker. It was over 60 inches at the stump and had a main distribution point that was wider than our star employee. Also, we finished up a cabling job where we installed a brace in the lower section of the union that we used a drillbit that was over 6 feet long. Had to have it custom-made for this tree specifically. Unreal how big the giants can get!

The crew planted some 65 gallon vitex on one of our great customers properties yesterday. They did a few pallets of sod as well. I was off supervising a tree farm install of some live oaks and vitex trees. Great day for preservation. Today we had a bigger oak removal and one that was a whole tree failure on separate property. Team is doing a great job, thanks guys!
