Did you know that fencing is both an Olympic AND Paralympic event?

Wheelchair fencing is competed nationally and internationally in all 3 weapons. Typically, the fencers sit in a specially designed wheelchair that is clipped into a steel track for safety. Since there cannot be any footwork, the fencers rely on blade work and target displacement only.

Since all that specialized equipment is expensive, takes up a lot of space, and isn't needed the majority of time, I was asked to produce a set of wheelchair fencing training seats. These were designed by the folks across the pond at British Fencing, and the plans are available on their website. (They were in metric...it was glorious.)

I have had the opportunity to be a part of this outing for over 10 years. I recently celebrated my 43rd trip around the sun and in lieu of having a Facebook charity post I'm hoping you may consider donating directly to these wonderful folks working to strike out childhood cancer. You would be amazed how far $10 can go!

Highway Run Woodshop was proud to be a sponsor of the annual golf outing again this year. It is an amazing event that I have been blessed to be a part of since its first year!

TNWF has been helping families and scientists strike out childhood cancer for over a decade. Please consider them when choosing a charity.

Got someone in your life who's just so hard to buy for? Yeah, me too. Luckily, I just so happened to have bought some used w**e barrels from a couple years back and like the w**e they previously contained, the wooden barrel staves are aged perfectly and ready to be transformed into the perfect gift!

Christmas time at HRW! Nothing says Christmas quite like Just-In-Time manufacturing!

It's gonna be close, but I think I'm gonna make it!

Side project. Ordered some round plexiglass thinking I could make some coasters. Looking pretty good so far, got a few other designs ready to go too.

A few months ago, I made a wooden flag to hang in my office. Since then, I have gotten multiple orders for variations on that flag.
