So if you haven't had the chance to drive by lately and check out the latest work - we wanted to post some before and after photos here of the latest progress. When we purchased these buildings - the storefronts were collapsing from years and years of rot and decay - they had been partially covered with plywood, vinyl siding and whatever other junk people could find. We could never imagine the amount of behind the scenes works to get all the proper plans and permits and update these 100 + year old storefronts! Out intent was always to make these buildings look as close to original as possible and we think we did a pretty good job at that. These storefronts now feature giant glass windows to show off the businesses that will be inside! And these storefronts aren't even done yet - they still need to get all the decorative trim and paint! I know some folks didn't like the fact that we painted the brick - but it was actually already painted and trying to strip the paint would not have been cost effective! Check out the photos of the original tin ceilings that were salvaged in the buildings.

Now - the next steps. Our mission has always been to restore these buildings and provide them as an opportunity for local businesses and Entrepreneurs to grow and revitalize the Downtown area. We are getting closer and closer - AND NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP! These buildings are all available FOR LEASE. If you have a small business and want to expand - or are an existing business looking for a new location - WE NEED TO TALK! This is prime commercial real estate with over the top daily traffic exposure!

What types of businesses are we looking for - well I think a lot of folks have answered that question in the past! I think just about everyone would love to see a coffee shop, breakfast joint or maybe even a bakery in these buildings - or any other type of retail business that will draw folks back to the Downtown Corridor!

But let us (and potential renters) know what you want to see in the comments below!! For the first time in a long time - these buildings will be able to accommodate just about any of the types of businesses that we would all like to see!

I just want to say thanks to everyone that showed up today - our team worked very hard the last two weeks to try and make this day the biggest success as possible - the words of encouragement today were overwhelming and we truly appreciate it!

Attention: Train Memorabilia Dealers, Antiques Dealers, Craft Persons or anyone who wants to sell their items, trains, tracks, etc. - we have 10 spaces available at NO COST for the Downtown Big Boy 4014 Event on 7/12. All spaces measure 10x10 and will be filled on a first come - first serve basis. Again - these limited spaces are free of charge - we just want to try and promote local dealers and craft persons on this monumental day! Book your space today!!!

The first 50 Pins are READY! These one of a kind pins are hand made by Daniel Rauschenbach of Rauschenbach Art to celebrate the event in Downtown Struthers. The image on these pins is based upon a custom piece of artwork created by Daniel! We are making arrangements right now for how to make them available for sell immediately - we are leaning towards a booth in Downtown perhaps a couple nights during the week and on each Saturday leading up to the event! The price for the pins is $4/each. Right now we are limiting purchases to 5 pins per person.

But we haven't forgotten about the kiddos also - we will have our train inspired sand box for the kids to play in with train whistles and free train balloons plus other games and events to be announced soon! We will also be giving away 6 passes to our exclusive viewing party which will include unlimited food and drink and the ONLY UNOBSTRUCTED view of the train tracks as the the pulls out of Downtown Struthers!!!!
