Good evening Office of Student Activities & Office of Multicultural Affairs,
I hope this day finds you in good spirits.
I am reaching out to you today in an effort to get additional information about a student organization named Black Artist League (BAL). This organization use to be a recognized student organization (RSO) on the prestigious Syracuse University campus. I was saddened to recently hear that the organization is no longer active within the student life community. As one of the past Presidents of BAL from 2005-2007, I am trying to connect with someone who I can speak with to try to re- energize this organization, as it had such presence and rich history on campus.
In addition, many Alumni/Alumna wanted to see if there was any archived data, awards and items left from the organization or if the items were discarded? This is particularity important since the organization did have office space and a mailbox. I have since graduated from the University in 2007; however, I wanted to see what are the required steps in order to seek more details on reclamation efforts and locate any items left behind.
Can someone please contact me to discuss how we can breath new life into BAL and again make this a RSO? If not for the Spring 2015 semester, for at least starting in the 2015-2016 academic year.
I look forward to your response as this was a great passion of many people apart of the organization, especially mine, when we were students on campus.
Happy Holidays!
Kind regards,
Jasmine P. Thompson
