Today I received my 25th year certification from IAPMO as a Res & Commercial UPC plumbing code book Inspector. the sad thing about this is, In the city of Tacoma where we do most of our jobs, I have to listen to these city of Tacoma Inspectors who do the inspections on my jobs and THEY ARE NOT EVEN A St of Wash. LIC. PLUMBER!! So you see when there wrong about codes I tell them, cause, they never say what sec. of the code book there quoting they'll just say something like this, change 'ADA fixtures" WTF does that mean? I asked, what section/chapter ect. are you talking about, they will put on the Insp. card contractor being hasty. here's another one for you. Customer wanted to install a coffee maker, there's a existing floor sink about 12 feet away (that was inspected back in 2018) so we are going to run the overflow drain into the floor sink(trap/vent) the ID drain cause its over 10 feet but less than 15ft see section 803.1 ( I think ) anyway there asking me to draft up a ISO drawing for 12 feet of exposed pipe and want me to pay for a plan review for this little exposed ID drain... $$$$$$$$ is all they want then have non lic. inspectors look over your job and cause they don't know all the codes they fail you and charge you $140.00 each time they come out. I found out city in DEBT so much from being SUED MANY TIMES!!!! I WONDER WHY....... OH BY THE WAY DID YOU KNOW THAT DEPT. of L&I Plumbing CERTIFICATION does NOT approve IAPMO certifications anymore. but yet that's the CODE BOOK WE GO BY, cause they don't get the RENEWAL $$$ IAPMO does, so its no longer approved. wash st is 8 BILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT.... Lost, the New GOV says 1 BILLION dollars last year, so change laws raise taxes to pay for this s**t. MY OH MY, I'm not making this s**t up!
