April has been an interesting month, started at a house in “St. George Plantation” and ended on a house that was an original plantation home, now tucked away in a beautiful neighborhood in Tallahassee. Our most challenging retrofit to date, this one had us focusing on the original portions of the home from circa 1865 and 1914.

Just finished up a couple houses down on St. George Island. We are happy to add Franklin County to our list of building jurisdictions where we have completed retrofits using our methods. Loved the views (but hated the wind 😂 lol). Looking forward to starting our next project back in Tallahassee later this week.

There are some very important and needed changes coming soon to the Wind Mitigation form. Below is a screen shot from a portion of a draft version of the updated form. We highlighted some key changes that will have a major impact on the insurance industry here in Florida. The form is showing 3/25 as the date of revision so we are hopeful that the Office of Insurance Regulation is close to finalizing this update. We are reaching out to OIR to better understand the timeline and will update if we get a response.
