was founded in 1971 by Wayne and Joyce Davis in Tallapoosa, Haralson County, Georgia, on the same site where it currently operates. The Operation has grown steadily over the past several years, but it is still managed using the same family business philosophy that has created decades of successful years in business. Over the years the company has worked hard to manage the internal growth and conti

nue to provide the highest quality customer service and products that have made us successful. All of our plants are computerized from batching and dispatching to the billing of our customers over our wide-area computer network. We are the largest family-owned ready mixer producer based in the West Georgia area. We also market other concrete-related products and services to our customers through our outside sales force. We can supply our customers with crushed stone, sand, block, and related masonry products for their job sites and construction projects. Today, Wayne Davis concrete currently operates 17 ready mix plants, 100+ ready-mix trucks and employs approximately 185 within the Wayne Davis Concrete family. We are proud of our success and look forward to continued growth and expansion.

Today, we celebrated an outstanding group of individuals who have completed Leadership Haralson. Each graduate brought their own experiences, perspectives, and passion to the program, creating new relationships and connections that will continue well beyond graduation.

Leadership Haralson is designed to give participants an inside look at the community they live and work in. Through class days focused on leadership, local government, economic development, education, community service, agriculture, local nonprofits, and more, the class experienced Haralson County firsthand and discovered new ways to get involved, serve, and make a difference.

We are always grateful to be invited to come share about what we do here at WDC. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Carrollton for having us join you all.

Our club was fascinated to hear from Mr. Richard Davis, President Wayne Davis Concrete Co., about the legacy, mission and work of Wayne Davis.

The Davis Family began in the mid-1960s, cleaning out chicken houses and doing small grading and asphalt paving projects. In 1971, Wayne and Joyce Davis opened the first ready-mix plant in Tallapoosa, Georgia, which we still have in operation to this day. The Company has grown steadily over the past 55 years, and it is still managed using the same family business philosophy that the business was founded on. It is the leading privately held, family-operated ready-mix concrete supplier in North West Georgia.

Today, Wayne Davis Concrete operates 19 ready-mix plants, 150+ ready-mix trucks, and employs approximately 350 people.

Yesterday looked a little different around WDC, and we loved it.

We’re always proud to be part of the communities we serve, but getting to open our doors and host the Tanner Health Foundation’s Women’s Luncheon made it extra special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the Tanner Health Foundation for the work you continue to do right here in our community. We were happy to be a small part of it!
