The storm recovery charge will end one month ahead of schedule, beginning in August.

Although higher summer temperatures often lead to increased cooling costs, ending the charge early helps offset bills by approximately 11%–12% for residential and small business customers.

As energy use declines this fall, the end of the storm recovery charge will have a greater impact on reducing monthly bills. For Budget Billing participants, those savings will appear more gradually over time.

A downed power line can look harmless, but it could still be energized. Always assume a downed line is dangerous. Electricity can travel through anything touching a downed power line, so give the area plenty of space and report it immediately.

Volunteers from Tampa Electric’s Customer Experience team visited Feeding Tampa Bay, excited to support the assembly of bags filled with cereal and other non-perishable foods.

Those bags serve an important purpose: helping discharged hospital patients who may not know where their next meal will come from.

Through partnerships with organizations like Feeding Tampa Bay, our team is proud to help lift up Tampa Bay neighbors – showing compassion through action, one bag (and a few giant spoonfuls of cereal) at a time.

On Lineworker Appreciation Day, we’re recognizing the Tampa Electric lineworkers who show up in tough conditions, work behind the scenes, and help keep our community powered.

We’re also cheering on the newest graduates of the lineworker training program we operate with Hillsborough College. At their graduation ceremony, the students showed family and friends the skills they've built. Their futures are bright!
