A client recently came to us with a powerful mission: to create a long-term housing solution for ex-convicts, knowing firsthand that stable, dignified living greatly reduces the chance of someone ending up back in prison. Their vision? A handful of thoughtfully designed container homes on a single lot — a place where people trying to rebuild their lives can finally get a fair shot at independence. Because for many, getting a lease with a felony record is nearly impossible for years after release. We just presented the first round of design layouts, and the enthusiastic response from our client meant the world to us. This project isn’t about flashy finishes or high-end luxury. It’s about humanity, dignity, and second chances. And while this may not be the most glamorous part of what we do, it’s without question the most fulfilling. We’re now moving into the next phase: working through high-impact, budget-friendly finishes to bring this vision to life — and keep it accessible.
