The other day, I took some time away from gathering up firewood to push over some junk trees. It wasn't hard to get carried away. We're still clearing out our own property to make way for grazing pasture for our horses, a little bit at a time. After a day of driving around, giving estimates to potential customers Sunday, my last estimate turned into a job. This customer had two stumps that stuck out like sore thumbs and just wanted them gone asap. It just so happened, I brought my chainsaw and small stump grinder with me. I cut them both down and grounded them up. I threw the big chunks of wood into the trailer, bagged up the chips and debris, and hauled them away. It was a beautiful day in Alexandria.

Took advantage of some down time to take care of the stumps on our own property. One thing I've learned about stump grinding... you can't judge a stump by it's book cover. Some looked so rotted I was thinking I was going to breeze right through it, only to find out the more I got into it the more solid the material. Anyway, it's going to be a lot easier brush hogging the pastures with the stumps gone.

Back on our property today getting rid of a tree blown over by a recent storm, and surrounding brush and junk trees. It really gave the pasture a much larger look. Checkout the before and after pics. I also had some knarly locust tree stumps that needed attention. Locust stumps are the worst.

We were in Glenford yesterday to grind up a very large soft maple stump. The homeowner tried to dig it out with his excavator and then tried to burn it out without success. He said his wife had enough of looking at it and just wanted it gone. We made sure of it. We took the stump 8-10 inches, along with the outreaching roots. When discussing the job, he told us he did not want us to clean up, but we raked up the wood chips and put them in a pile. We gathered up the chunks of wood from the soil and put them in a separate pile.Took the available dirt, filled in the hole and raked it flat. All in all, it was a good day. Thank you, Dennis and Marion for the business. It was really nice to meet you folks.

We had a beautiful spot to do some stump grinding today in Rushville. The homeowners property was absolutely stunning. Eleven stumps in all and everything went smoothly. Stephen and Stephanie couldn't be nicer customers, and we appreciate their business.
