1 30 am client hears water in there basement

If your sump pump is not working, here are some steps for checking and maintenance:

1. **Power Supply:** Ensure the pump is plugged in and receiving power. Check the circuit breaker to make sure it hasn't tripped.

2. **Float Switch:** The float switch is a key component. Make sure it moves freely and isn't obstructed. Lift it to see if the pump activates.

3. **Debris:** Clear any debris or obstructions from the sump pit and pump intake. Debris can hinder the pump's operation.

4. **Check Valve:** Inspect the check valve for proper functioning. It prevents water from flowing back into the pit, ensuring the pump doesn't cycle unnecessarily.

5. **Impeller:** Examine the pump's impeller for any blockages or damage. If it's stuck, the pump won't work effectively.

6. **GFCI Outlet:** If the pump is connected to a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlet, make sure it hasn't tripped.

Just a quick reminder… be sure to check your gas meter for any wind drifts. Gas meters have a vent on the bottom and wind drifts will often times build up below the meter and run the potential of blocking the vent. 🤙🏼
