She will sneak in on golden feet,
Her breath sweet with mead.
I hear the rustle of her cloak,
As through the wheat she treads.
The sun dares bold to kiss,
The fire of her auburn hair,
While smiling she comes to me,
And nestles into my bed.
Though gladly do I welcome it,
Her misty morning kiss,
Yet still more I long to drink up,
The copper warmth of her skin,
Painted by the evening hearth.
But ever startled am I,
By the coolness of her touch,
When rises the wolf moon high.
I feel it sink down to the bone,
Oh,
she
steals
my
breath.
