Your plumbing wasn't built to last forever.

And we're not just talking about the pipes behind your walls.

Faucets. Toilets. Water heaters. Supply lines. Valves.

The parts you rely on every day experience wear over time, too.

One repair doesn't necessarily mean something needs to be replaced. But when the same fixture keeps causing problems, repairs are becoming more frequent, or something simply isn't performing like it used to, it may be worth asking a bigger question:

Is it still worth repairing, or is it time to replace it?

At Tulsa Plumbing and Remodeling, we can take a look at what's going on, talk through your options, and help you determine what makes sense for your home.

Because sometimes another repair is the right answer.

And sometimes your plumbing is telling you it's ready for an upgrade.

You use your sink every day.

But could you name what's underneath it?

Supply lines bring water in, shutoff valves control the flow, drain pipes carry used water out, and that curved P-trap helps keep sewer gases from entering your home.

Not such a mystery anymore, right?

If something under your sink starts leaking or acting up, Tulsa Plumbing and Remodeling can help with repairs and replacements.

Now, take a peek under your sink. How many parts can you name?

Stop the clog before it starts.

Hair. Food scraps. Soap debris.

The less of it that makes its way down your drain, the better.

That's where a simple drain strainer comes in.

It catches debris before it enters the drain, helping reduce the buildup that can contribute to clogs over time.

No fancy plumbing trick. Just a small habit that can make a difference.

Catch it. Toss it. Keep it out of the drain.

And when your drain needs more than a strainer can handle, Tulsa Plumbing and Remodeling is here to help.

Not every water meter looks the same.

Some have traditional dials.
Some have digital displays.
Some may have an indicator that helps show when water is flowing.

So if your neighbor's meter looks nothing like yours, that's normal.

What isn't? Your meter showing water use when nothing is running.

If your faucets, toilets, appliances, and other water-using fixtures are all off but your meter still appears to show water flowing, it could be a clue that water is being used somewhere you don't expect.

It won't tell you exactly where the problem is, but it can tell you when something is worth a closer look.

Regardless of what type of water meter you have, knowing what yours can tell you could help you spot unusual water use sooner.

Cold mornings are coming. Is your water heater ready?

Fall is a good time to make sure your hot water is keeping up before the colder weather settles in.

If your showers haven't been staying hot as long as they used to, or your water heater has been making unusual noises or acting a little differently, now's a good time to have it checked.

After all, it's better to address a water heater issue now than discover it during your first chilly morning shower.

Tulsa Plumbing and Remodeling services traditional and tankless water heaters, helping homeowners prepare for the season ahead.

A little attention now can help you avoid an unwelcome cold-shower surprise later.

So, how's your water heater holding up?

See something crusty, green, white, or rusty around your pipes?

Don't just wipe it off and forget about it.

That buildup could be a sign of corrosion or moisture around a pipe, fitting, or connection.

And while it may not look like a big deal right now, it's worth finding out what's causing it.

You don't have to diagnose it yourself. You just have to notice when something doesn't look right.

Tulsa Plumbing and Remodeling can take a closer look and help determine what your plumbing needs.

Go peek under your sink. Anything looking a little suspicious? đź‘€

Your outdoor faucet shouldn't keep dripping after you turn it off.

A drip here and there might not seem like much, especially outside. But if your hose bib is leaking, difficult to turn, or simply isn't working the way it should, it's worth having it checked.

Tulsa Plumbing and Remodeling handles outdoor plumbing, including hose bib installation and replacement.

So if that outdoor faucet has been on your "I'll deal with it later" list...

Small valve. Big job.

You’ve probably seen those little valves under your sink or behind your toilet and never given them much thought.

Until something starts leaking.

Fixture shutoff valves let you stop the water to a specific sink or toilet without shutting off water to your entire home.

That makes them pretty important when you need to act quickly.

So here’s your homeowner homework for today:

Find them. Know what they control. And don’t wait for a leak to figure it out.
