Throwback to my days working with The Rite Painter, my Uncle David’s company. Painting Life Church was a standout project, but the real value was everything I learned from him and my Uncle Billy—not just about painting and construction, but about pride in your work.
Uncle David had a way of motivating me that stuck with me, his stories about his life never get old. I always say he should write a book. On weeks I did particularly well, he’d give me a bonus—not just for the money, but because it was his way of saying, “You did a damn good job.” That recognition meant so much to me.
Thanks, Uncle David, for teaching me the value of hard work, and for believing in me along the way.
