Some remodels happen all at once. Others unfold over time.
This 1901 Capitol Hill home was transformed in two phases, starting with a kitchen remodel and later expanding into a full second-story renovation—including the primary bathroom, bedrooms, laundry/sewing room, and more.
Phasing a whole-house project offers real advantages: homeowners can remain in their home during construction, and the work can be thoughtfully planned and financially spread out over time.
Across both phases, the design balances historic character with modern function and personal expression—from custom kitchen cabinetry and hand-painted tile to a stunning primary bath with a freestanding soaking tub and custom mosaic detailing.
