On Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice is the reason we’re able to gather, work, and build the future we do today.

From all of us at Terrasmart, we extend our gratitude to those who served and to the families who carry their legacy forward.

Not every project site is flat, and forcing difficult terrain into a standard design can quickly drive up grading costs.

TerraTrak 2P was designed to work with the land, not against it. Its adaptable frame and adjustable screw extensions accommodate slopes up to 20% while handling undulating terrain with less grading and more flexibility.

That means developers can unlock more usable land, reduce civil work, and keep projects moving on sites that might otherwise be considered too challenging.

This 1.3 MW ground mount project at a children’s hospital was built with more than energy production in mind.

Designed in the shape of a giraffe, the array brings an uplifting view to patients and families arriving at the facility, while also supporting one of the largest renewable energy microgrids connected to a hospital emergency system in the country.

The system is expected to offset 80% of the hospital’s energy needs, help reduce long-term energy costs, and support reliable operation during any potential regional power outages.

A meaningful project, and one our team was proud to support with Terrasmart’s GLIDE Wave fixed tilt solar racking system.

More projects today are being built on hilly, irregular, and undulating terrain, where grading costs, installation risks, and unpredictable site conditions can quickly impact project economics.

That’s why flexibility matters, along with a partner who understands the ins and outs of navigating complex terrain.

Terrasmart combines smart site optimization software with adaptable tracker systems and ground screw foundations to help developers work with the land instead of completely reshaping it.

Using SIFT allows teams to model grading impacts early, reduce grading and civil costs, and maximize production on slopes.

On difficult terrain, the lowest upfront cost rarely tells the full story. Smarter planning and adaptable systems can make the difference between a difficult site and a viable project.

Solar tracker software has traditionally been viewed as a tool for improving energy yield, but it’s becoming just as important for protecting sites and reducing operational risk.

In a recent article with North American Clean Energy, Ashton Vandemark shares how intelligent tracker software helps projects respond to real-world conditions through automated weather protection, advanced tracking algorithms, remote diagnostics, and real-time monitoring.

As sites become more complex and weather events become more unpredictable, software is playing a bigger role in keeping projects productive and protected in the long term.

At the Rumford project in Maine, steep slopes and difficult subsurface conditions made traditional approaches costly and risky.

With terrain reaching 20% grades, the project needed a tracker system that could adapt to the land instead of forcing the land to adapt to the system. Using TerraTrak paired with ground screw foundations helped minimize grading, reduce civil costs, and avoid the refusal and frost heave risks common in the region.

The result was a more predictable installation on a site with undulating topography, rocky soils, deep frost depths, and heavy snow loads.

Not every solar project starts on flat, easy ground. GLIDE Agile was designed for the sites that come with steep slopes, undulating topography, and unpredictable subsurface conditions.

Our ground screw-based fixed tilt system is built to adapt to challenging terrain, including slopes greater than 30%, while helping reduce the risks that can slow projects down.

With leading ground screw technology designed to eliminate refusal, projects become more predictable from installation through long-term performance.

As topography gets tougher, experience and the right racking system matter: https://www.terrasmart.com/products/ground-mount/fixed-tilt-glideagile/

Parking lots don’t usually get much attention, but they represent one of the biggest untapped opportunities for solar.

In a recent article for POWER Magazine, Wes Pauly shares how canopy projects are doing more than generating power. They’re helping expand solar into existing spaces, supporting EV growth, and giving owners more control over their energy use.

Canopy projects come with their own set of challenges, and getting those early decisions right is what drives project success and why having the right partner matters.

In our pursuit of creating a robust safety climate, we believe that listening to our team's safety concerns and challenges is just as vital as providing clear safety directions. This commitment was proudly exemplified during our 2nd Field Training Event in April, where we dedicated two full hours in the classroom, of a 24 hour curriculum, to training and gathering valuable feedback on safety practices.

Our approach included engaging, hands-on training sessions focused on operating equipment and installing foundations and network stations. Collaborating with our suppliers, we addressed the real-world challenges identified in the field, particularly surrounding new safety features that were often misunderstood, leading to frustration and delays.

This training wasn't just about compliance; it was an opportunity for our field leadership team to ask questions directly to the experts. It was a tremendous safety win and operational win all rolled into one!

During the hands-on installation training, we witnessed challenges firsthand and collaborated to brainstorm innovative solutions — from revising Job Safety Analyses to developing customized hand tools targeted at resolving ergonomic issues. With a strong background in ergonomics, we recognized that user experience and knowledge are paramount, extending beyond safety risks to operational efficiencies.

Creating a safety program that prioritizes listening, thorough investigation of root causes, and continuous improvement is essential. We understand that effective safety culture takes a collective effort, and together, we can build a stronger safety foundation at terrasmart™.

Together, we can ensure a safer, more efficient workplace for everyone. 💪
