Here’s where the real fun happens!

Remember the sewer line that we were gonna have to work around?
Well here is that workaround. We were able to remove the toilet that was in the bathroom while we had a plumber come in and they were able to work with the sewer line to get that moved and tied in to the pipe that we needed to so that we could run our drainage behind where the toilet was.
Everything‘s looking good to go 🔧

Encapsulation is a great idea for a crawlspace type of basement where space is limited. However, there still needs to be an element of waterproofing either on the outside the inside you’re just gonna cause major problems if you encapsulate on top of an area that’s still getting issues with water.

You’ve heard me speak about how deep our drainage is and how deep your drainage should be if you’re doing this similar project. Now you can actually see it.
The guys had actually filled in with our stone gravel over the pipe and were getting ready to pour the SuperCrete, but I had them hold off for a minute so I could dig down and show you how deep our drainage is to ensure a dry basement.

The gutter system doesn’t even connect!
Are these guys serious with this stuff??

Every failed system we’ve torn out on this page has one thing in common. ⬇️
Somebody installed it without really considering what happens next. Wrong depth, no gravel, drainage sitting on top of the water. Shortcuts that only show up years later when the homeowner is the one dealing with it.
Peter talks today about the difference on our end: the level of care that goes into every layer of every system we put in. Not because it’s a nice thing to say, but because it’s the only reason our work holds up when everyone else’s doesn’t.
Best experience. Best working product. That’s been the driving force since 1997.

Two requirements that usually work against each other. ⬇️
Water needs open space to move freely. Code calls for a proper full-depth floor. A lot of systems compromise on one to get the other. With thin toppings over shallow channels being the most common shortcut.
Our waffleboard/flow channel solves that. Water moves underneath exactly the way it should while we pour a complete floor over the top. No trade-off, no compromise, no cutting corners on either side of the equation.

Old sewer pipe, right where we’re working.
⬇️
Here’s what we do next: nothing. We don’t touch it, we don’t guess, and we don’t improvise. We bring in a licensed plumber or the right trade for the situation and coordinate around it. It’s the way we’ve done it for almost 30 years.
Waterproofing crews that decide they can handle a little plumbing are how homeowners end up with two problems instead of one. Knowing exactly where our work ends and someone else’s begins isn’t a limitation. It’s what we like to call experience.

Watch what happens the second we break through this floor. ⬇️
Water. Standing water! Why?? That’s because the competitor’s drainage system that was installed here did nothing to relieve it. Their pipe sat on top of the water instead of letting it drain, so it just built and built.
Pete breaks down the difference in how our pipe actually moves water out instead of trapping it. With rain hammering the region right now, a lot of homeowners are sitting on this exact situation and don’t even know it.

If your floor is sweating or you’re seeing water you can’t explain, THIS COULD BE WHY! 🤯

Every time it floods, the water climbs halfway up the yard and every time that happens, the basement starts taking on water. When we inspected, we found a competitor’s drainage system already installed. The problem? It was built for ordinary groundwater. This isn’t an ordinary situation.
A river surging against your foundation needs more than a standard system can handle. So we didn’t install standard. Take a look at what this house actually required.
