Today marks the start of Safety Week—an opportunity for us to uplift teammates, celebrate wins, and have honest conversations about safety. Each year at WSFP, we create a fun video to engage our teammates, but make no mistake—we do not take safety lightly.

Please reach out to your teams (even if you’re not part of Western States Fire Protection) and ensure that all necessary precautions for the field are clearly communicated and thoroughly understood. The things we learn and discuss during Safety Week should follow us throughout the year, as safety is a never-ending journey and one where we can always improve.

With that, please enjoy this year’s video, titled “Mishap on Ice,” and join us in commemorating Safety Week. 🏒

This April, the WSFP IMA team had the opportunity to attend the 4th Annual APi IMA Summit in Dallas, Texas, and it was an incredible week of collaboration, team building, action planning, and well-deserved recognition for an outstanding 2025. 🎉

What stood out most was the energy in the room. Over the past several years, both the WSFP IMA team and the APi IMA team have grown tremendously, and that growth was on full display throughout the summit. The collaboration was powerful, the conversations were meaningful, and the commitment to developing strong leaders was inspiring.

The summit also created a valuable opportunity for newer IMAs to learn from experienced leaders, share ideas, and build connections that will continue to strengthen our team moving forward.

We're excited about the momentum, proud of what has been accomplished, and even more energized for what’s ahead. We are truly building great leaders! 🏆

Our Portland team had a great time at the recent Oregon School Facilities Management Association (OSFMA) trade show! Susannah, April, and Romeo represented Western States Fire Protection and connected with facility leaders from across the region to talk life safety, fire protection, and supporting safe school environments.

The booth also looked fantastic thanks to April’s decorating skills—so good, in fact, it received the highest honor possible: unofficial but very real “WSFP Marketing Approval.” 😉

Great job, everyone!

Investing in our people is a big part of how we strengthen our teams at WSFP.

Recently, our Corporate and Denver offices participated in a DISC assessment, and our Salt Lake office took part in a 7 Habits course. This has helped them better understand others' communication styles, strengthen teamwork, and build even more effective working relationships.

In addition, one of our other offices recently participated in FARS training, ensuring our teams are equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed.

We’re proud to support opportunities that help our people grow and continue delivering the high level of service our customers expect!

Did you know most fire extinguishers need monthly visual checks—even if they’re never used? 🧯✅

A quick look for pressure, damage, and clear access can make the difference when seconds count. If yours is blocked, missing, or showing low pressure, it’s time to take action.

Keeping fire alarm systems ready means checking more than just the panel—it's the backup power, too!

This Cellchecker battery load tester helps us verify the capacity of a fire alarm panel’s backup batteries. If there's a power outage and the primary power goes out, this lets us know that the system will stay up and continue to protect the building. Life safety equipment has to work when it matters most—so we load test to make sure those batteries are truly ready. 🔋⚡
