It's June in South Alabama. 😅

We want to know: what's YOUR cool-down routine after being outside?

A) Straight to the AC, don't talk to me
B) Cold shower, THEN AC
C) Frozen treat immediately, no exceptions
D) Pool.

Drop your answer below! 👇

And if your home isn't cool enough to recover from Alabama summer — that's a conversation we should have.

Running constantly is your AC's least-surprising summer behavior — but here's how to know if it's a problem vs. normal:

✅ Normal:
→ Unit runs long cycles in 90°F+ weather (this is expected)

🔴 Call us if:
→ The house never reaches your set temperature even in mild heat
→ The system runs all day and still can't keep up
→ You're hearing unusual noises

Set temp, outdoor temp, and system age all factor in. When in doubt, call. It's a quick conversation.

Let’s talk thermostat settings, because South Alabama summers do not play. 🌡️☀️

Here’s a good rule of thumb:

🏠 When you’re home: 74–76°F
Comfortable without making your system work overtime.

🚗 When you’re away: 78–80°F
Helps save energy while keeping your home from getting too hot to cool back down.

🌙 At night: 72–74°F
Cool enough for better sleep without pushing your unit too hard.

A couple things to remember:

⚡ Every degree under 72°F can add to your energy bill.
⚡ Keeping your AC set at 68°F all day, every day, is tough on your system — especially in our heat.

Find that sweet spot where you stay comfortable and your AC can keep up.

Nobody plans for their AC to break down. But in Baldwin County in June, it's practically a rite of passage.

Here's what to do when it happens — before you call us:

1. Check your thermostat first — make sure it's set to COOL and the temperature is below your room temp. (More common than you'd think.)
2. Make sure your drain line is dripping, if not use a shop vac to clean it out.
3. Check your breaker — a tripped breaker is a 30-second fix.
4. Check your filter — a completely clogged filter can shut a system down. Replace it and give the unit 30 minutes.
5. Check your outdoor unit — make sure it's running. If it's not spinning, don't touch it. Call us.
6. Turn it to FAN ONLY for an hour — if the unit was frozen, this thaws it. Then restart cooling.

None of these fixed it? Call us. We're Boeschen's. We're local. We answer.

Save this post for July. You'll thank yourself.

We've been here for 25 years watching this community bloom every spring. And every year, right around now, our phones start ringing — because people open their windows, feel the warmth, and suddenly remember summer is coming.

We're ready. Are you?

If you haven't booked your spring AC check yet, now's the time.

Happy Friday, Baldwin County. Spring is ours.

Happy Birthday, Stephen! 🎉

Help us wish Stephen a very happy birthday AND congratulate him on celebrating 18 years with Boeschen’s this past April! 🙌

Stephen is our Installation Manager, and we are so grateful for the hard work, leadership, and dedication he brings to the team every day. Eighteen years is a big deal, and we are proud to have him as part of the Boeschen’s family.

Happy Birthday and congratulations, Stephen! 🎂👏

Real talk: May is when it gets real.

Here's the honest case for spring HVAC service:
Your system has been working hard all winter. Before it works even harder all summer, a tune-up catches the small things — a worn capacitor, a refrigerant drop, a dirty coil — before they become expensive things.
We've been doing this in Baldwin County for 20 plus years. The difference between a system that makes it through summer smoothly and one that doesn't almost always comes down to whether it was maintained going in.
We're booking spring appointments now. We always do our best to take care of you right way whenever you call, but a little planning on the front end means a lot less stress on the back end and probably a lot less money.
