Thinking about a home addition?

A good addition shouldn't feel like an add-on. It should flow like it was always part of the house β€” rooflines that match, rooms that connect right, and finishes that tie together.

That's where planning matters most. Foundation, framing, layout, and how the new space meets the old β€” get those right up front, and the rest of the project goes a whole lot smoother.

We're Integrity Construction & Concrete LLC β€” a licensed residential builder, fully insured, with 25+ years of experience and 80 five-star Google reviews.

We won't be the least expensive. We offer quality, not discounts.

Planning an addition for next year? Now's a good time to start the conversation.

πŸ” Spot the problem β€” Saturday driveway edition

We were finishing a large residential driveway in this scene β€” smooth trowels, clean edges, everything in its place.

Well… almost everything.

How many things can you spot that don't belong on a concrete job? Drop your count β€” or your best find β€” in the comments. We'll share the answer key later today.

No prizes, just bragging rights if you find them all before your coffee gets cold.

The lowest bid isn't always the cheapest job.

We hear some version of this story every season. A homeowner takes the lowest bid. Halfway through, the price starts climbing β€” things that "weren't included," materials swapped for cheaper ones, and a finish date that keeps sliding. By the end, they've paid more than the middle bid would have cost, and they're living with work they didn't want.

Three questions that protect you before you sign anything:

1. Is it in writing? A real estimate spells out the scope, the materials, and what's NOT included.
2. Licensed and insured? Ask to see it. A legitimate contractor will never be offended.
3. How are changes handled? Changes should be priced and approved in writing before the work starts, not after.

We won't be the least expensive. We offer quality not discounts β€” and a scope you can actually hold us to.

What's one question you wish you'd asked a contractor before hiring them? Drop it in the comments β€” we'll answer every one.

Quick tip before the first freeze: go easy on the salt.

Rock salt is rough on concrete β€” especially concrete that's less than a year old. It can eat at the surface and leave it pitted and flaking by spring.

A few simple swaps help:
β€’ Use sand for traction instead of salt when you can
β€’ Shovel early, before snow gets packed down and turns to ice
β€’ If you do use a de-icer, pick one labeled safe for concrete and use less than you think you need

Good concrete should hold up for years. A little care in the first winter or two goes a long way.

Questions about your driveway, patio, or porch before winter hits? Drop them in the comments β€” happy to answer.

Ask a Pro: "How long do I have to stay off new concrete?"

I get this one on almost every driveway and patio we pour, so here it is straight:

Walking on it β€” give it a full day. Two if you can.
Driving a car on it β€” about a week.
Work trucks and heavy loads β€” longer. Concrete keeps gaining strength for weeks, and cold nights like the ones coming this week slow that down.

Rushing it is how you end up with tire marks and cracks that never come out. Good concrete is worth the wait β€” that's kind of the theme with everything we do.

Your porch is the handshake before the front door.

Before winter hits: look at your steps and porch slab. Spalling concrete, sinking corners, cracked edges β€” freeze-thaw makes every one of them worse by spring.

Fixing it now means you're ahead of the weather instead of chasing it.

Sunday thought for anyone outgrowing their house:

A home addition done right doesn't feel like an addition. It feels like the house was always supposed to be that way β€” the roofline matches, the floors flow, the light makes sense.

That's the hard part. Anybody can frame a box.

Tying new construction into a 30-year-old home so the seams disappear takes planning, an honest look at the existing structure, and a builder who treats the old work with the same care as the new.
