BUSINESS MESSAGE...
THE YOUNG RICH RULER
Luke 18:22-23 (NKJV) 22 So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
23 But when he heard this, he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich.
Today, being in business some think that tenacity and cut throat mindset will win them great riches.
What wins success is not undercutting some body else's pricing, it's integrity and the proper applicator of knowledge that will land you the big accounts you seek.
The young rich ruler had a "full of himself" conversation with the master.
Lesson #1. KNOW WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO. Don't ever approach people with a high and mighty attitude. Jesus recognized his lack authenticity, and your customers will too.
Lesson #2. BE READY TO ADMIT YOU'RE SHORT COMINGS. He thought he had it all together, but Jesus revealed his true identity. Read verses 18 to 21. His problem was that his riches had him!
Lession #3. DON'T ALLOW MONEY TO RULE YOU. Be a giver! Did Jesus really want him to sell EVERYTHING? The answer is NO. Jesus says in Matthew 26:11, that you will always have the poor. Jesus was gauging the young man's heart.
Lesson #4. BE FLEXIBLE. instead of opening his wallet to the master, he walked away sadly. Here at Alabaster we give tithe and give offerings to the local church we go to. We recognize people who are struggling and make efforts to help them too without anyone's knowledge. Always remember that your secret deeds are seen by God.
IN CLOSING, People don't necessarily do business with you because you are the lowest price or offer free shipping. They do business with you because of who you are and the knowledge you impart to them on the products they buy from you.
In my 25 years, of online selling I've had a number of companies come to the market. But all they do is copy models, they are selling part numbers with little knowledge. Then many sell their souls to Amazon or eBay to get exposure.
If you want real success accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and let Him direct your path in every area in your life! Including your business!
