⚠️ BRITTLE PLUMBING = A WARNING SIGN
This is what aging plastic plumbing looks like when it reaches the end of its useful life.
In this home, we’re dealing with brittle ABS and older polybutylene fittings. As these materials age, they can become increasingly fragile. A fitting that has held for years can crack or fail with very little warning—sometimes just from normal movement, vibration, or making another repair nearby.
🔧 At this point, repairing one fitting at a time is treating the symptom—not the underlying problem.
This home will eventually need a complete re-pipe, and based on the condition of the existing materials, we recommend planning it sooner rather than later. A planned re-pipe is much better than waiting for a major failure, water damage, or multiple emergency repairs to force the decision.
