From the very first time I visited Island Dolphin Care and met their team, I knew there was something special about this place. They aren’t just people who work together. They’re a family, doing incredibly heartfelt work…and you can feel it the minute you walk through the door.

They use their connection with their dolphins to reach people in ways that sometimes nothing else can. Children with special needs, veterans living with PTSD, families going through things most of us can’t imagine. For a little while, they’re able to step outside of everything they’re carrying and just connect.

I knew immediately that I didn’t want to just give them a floor.

I wanted to give them something that reflected the heart of what they do.
Something that celebrated the energy of this place; the work they pour their hearts into every single day and the joy they work so hard to bring to those who need it most.

And Team Unicorn SHOWED UP.

These last nine days were long. Really long. We worked around the clock, pushed ourselves, solved problems, created, changed things, invented new techniques on the fly, and put an incredible amount of ourselves into this project. I’m incredibly grateful and could not be more proud of my team and what we created together.

This video is the moment the Island Dolphin Care team got to see their new floor for the first time.

Their reactions were the greatest compliment we could have received. There’s something incredibly rewarding about watching someone see your work for the first time and knowing, without them even having to say it, that you got it right.

This is one of those projects I know I’ll carry with me for a very long time.

Thank you to the entire Island Dolphin Care family for welcoming us, taking such good care of us, sharing your stories with us, and, of course, sharing your dolphins with us. 🐬

It was an absolute privilege to create something for a place that gives so much to so many.

This one came from the heart.

Come with me on a journey… because you KNOW Unicorn installations get a little out of hand 😂

I’m fairly confident is **now the coolest floor on the planet. **

We made concrete Duravel look like wood. We made flake look like the ocean. We made foam look like rock. And we made epoxy look like an aquarium that could rival a real one.

This whole floor is designed as one giant reef, and once you get me started, there’s no stopping💪🏼🤘🏻

There are over 200 different starfish of different species, 50 something sergeant fish, 5 parrotfish, 23 baby sea turtles, 4 giant stingrays, 2 mature green sea turtles, dozens of crabs of all kinds… and exactly 1,664 mojarra. Yes, I count.

The perspective in this floor is absolutely wild. There are things you notice immediately and things you don’t see until you’re standing over them. The reef falls away underneath you, animals disappear into the distance or surprise you underfoot- and there’s always something new to see no matter how long you look.

And the installation itself? Top notch. I could not be more proud of what Team Unicorn pulled off here. This took every bit of creativity, problem solving, skill, patience and absolute insanity that we had in us.

We worked our asses off. We made something that doesn’t exist anywhere else. We made some really wonderful new friends. We got to hang out with dolphins. And, naturally, we left Key Largo having converted a few more installers to Durável Products 😂

This one has a whole lot of heart in it. We just can’t help ourselves💪🏼🥹🥹
