Okland Construction

Okland Construction Okland Construction Company, Inc. operates as a regional general contracting and construction manager Okland's purpose is to create remarkable experiences.

Okland Construction is built upon a continuing legacy of innovation, character, and integrity. Our roots reach back to 1918 when John Okland first applied his knowledge of carpentry and shipbuilding, gained in his native Norway, to create the foundation of Okland Construction. From those humble beginnings, Okland has grown to be a company of skilled builders that have left their mark of craftsmans

hip and uncompromising quality on hundreds of buildings throughout North America. Still a privately-held, family-owned business, Okland continues to honor the same Old World ideals of honesty, value, and efficiency. These ideals are demonstrated in our core purpose and core values as an organization. This not only includes the experiences we strive to give our clients, but also the architects/engineers, subcontractors, and our own employees. Our core values support our purpose and help shape what we do and how we do it. Our core values are: Be Distinct; Earn Trust with Every Action; Deliver Value; Be Humble; and Create Shared Success.

Okland is proud to begin its next chapter as an employee-owned company through a partial ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Program).

As fourth generation owner and President, Brett Okland shared, “This isn’t a sale of the company, and it doesn’t change who we are. We’re not stepping away. We’re leaning in.”

While our ownership is evolving, our commitment remains the same: creating remarkable experiences for our clients, partners, and communities. What’s changing is who shares in the success we create together.

The renewed Maricopa County South East Juvenile Courts represents a shared commitment to creating a safer, more welcoming environment for youth, families, and staff across the Southeast Valley. Celebrating the official re-opening alongside city officials and Treanor reinforces our belief in what collaborative partnership can achieve.

This 63,000sf project consisted of an interior remodel including 11 juvenile courts, judges chambers, court and clerk administration offices, and support areas.

We’re grateful for the trust placed in our team on this project and honored to continue supporting the communities we’re part of through our work on courts and other civic facilities.

We’re excited to celebrate the University of Utah’s student-housing P3 being named Best Education & Higher Education Project at the 2025 P3 Awards. This recognition highlights the power of partnership to deliver transformative, student-centered housing at scale.

Congrats to our teammates and partners, American Campus Communities, MHTN Architects, Inc., Ayers Saint Gross, and the University of Utah, on this milestone. The first residence hall in this multi-phase program is underway, a six-story, 1,400-bed community that’s a major step toward the U’s vision to add up to 5,000 new on-campus beds in the coming years.

Today, we honor all those who served our country, and we’re especially proud to welcome home Okland veteran Marquez Perez.

Marquez, one of our talented estimators, recently returned from deployment to the Horn of Africa with the 158th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade. As the Force Engineer Chief of Plans & Operations, he led mission-critical construction and infrastructure improvements—restoring airfields, renovating bases, and supporting essential operations alongside joint and host-nation partners ensuring a safer and more prosperous future for the region.

Thank you, Marquez, for your service and leadership—and thank you to all veterans and military families for your sacrifices. We’re grateful today and every day.

This National First Responders Day, we’re taking it back to 2013, when the Salt Lake City Public Safety Building was completed, continuing our path to building critical facilities for those who keep our communities safe.

This project includes hardened operations spaces, community-facing civic areas, energy-efficient systems, and resilient infrastructure; a model we’ve carried into work like the Phoenix Police Headquarters and other first responder facilities across the Southwest and Mountain states.

To every firefighter, police officer, paramedic, dispatcher, and emergency responder thank you!

Big groundbreaking. Big investment. Big moment for Arizona.

We joined Amkor Technology, Inc. to officially break ground on their advanced semiconductor packaging and test campus in Peoria, a massive project that reinforces Arizona’s position as a global semiconductor hub and strengthens a resilient, end-to-end U.S. supply chain alongside industry leaders like Apple, NVIDIA, and TSMC.

Backed by strategic support from Governor Katie Hobbs, Mayor Jason Beck, and the City of Peoria, Arizona, this public-private investment represents a bold step forward for the region’s high-tech future. We’re proud to be part of the team bringing it to life alongside our partners at Barton Malow, World Wide Professional Solutions, and SSOE Group.

Per their latest announcements, the campus will deliver:

• Over 750,000 SF of cleanroom and advanced manufacturing space
• Up to 3,000 high-quality jobs
• Targeted production start in early 2028

As one of Arizona’s defining projects, it’s our honor to build what’s next, safely, on schedule, and to the standard this community deserves.

This week, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Staff Quarters at Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation (TCRHCC).

For years, community members have had to travel more than 30 minutes for basic medicine and treatment. With the addition of these Staff Quarters, healthcare providers will now be able to live and work right in the community, helping ensure that care is available close to home, not miles away.

Together, the new Staff Quarters and Health Center will provide critical resources for Tuba City, supporting both those who deliver care and those who rely on it.

We’re grateful to be part of a project with such deep significance, built on the vision and persistence of those who have championed it for generations.

Out on site, we asked Senior Field Engineer Evelyn Franco if we could highlight her work. True to who she is, Evelyn insisted we highlight the trades, the people who bring these projects to life.

At the Richard R. Steiner Campus at Rowland Hall, these skilled partners are turning vision into reality, building a new Middle and Upper School along with an athletic complex and performing arts center. Evelyn’s favorite part of the job is working alongside them: “They’re incredibly skilled and collaborative, and I enjoy being able to problem-solve and learn from them every day.”

We’re grateful for team members like Evelyn who champion collaboration, and for our trade partners who make it possible to deliver projects like Rowland Hall and every project we build together.

Our Utah team members traded in hard hats for rain suits during a hands-on training led by Field Verified. The focus? Building enclosures, and why getting them right makes all the difference.

The day kicked off with a demonstration showing the importance of keeping a building enclosure tight. Rain suits came out, water was flying, and everyone got a good laugh while learning just how easily leaks can sneak in if details are missed.

From there, Field Verified walked our team through how to spot potential leak risks early and how to clarify critical drawing details before they become issues in the field. The session was packed with real-world examples for our team.

The City of Glendale took a progress tour to see firsthand how things are progressing at their new City Hall, which will serve as a central hub for city operations and community engagement!

Walking through the emerging spaces offered a glimpse of how the new facility will bring efficiency, accessibility, and modern design to better serve the people of Glendale.

We’re grateful to city leadership for taking the time to tour the project and share in the excitement of what’s to come!
